Troop 1131's Vision



Boy Scout Troop 1131
St. Stephen’s United Methodist Church
Burke, Virginia


Goal

Organize a traditional Boy Scout Troop to serve youth in our area; insure every Scout and Leader in Troop 1131 has “World Class” experiences, in a physically and socially safe environment, that reinforce the Timeless Values of Scouting. 


Concept

Troop 1131 expects each Scout to participate enthusiastically to:

     1) Have Fun!

     2) Advance in Rank

     3) Earn merit badges

     4) Show Respect to Everyone

     5) Meet new people, and make friends

     6) Help with Troop Service Projects, e.g. Feeding Homeless, Eagle Projects

     7) Attend Weekend Camping Trips, Summer Camp, and other Troop  Activities

     8) Dress in full Boy Scout Uniform when required

     9) Make Everyone Feel Safe and Welcome

   10) Set an Example for Younger Scouts . 


Youth Leadership Concept

Troop 1131 will be a Youth Led Troop.

We will use the Patrol Method.

We will use the Buddy System.

We will be Safe; Practice Food Sanitation, and Maintain Personal Cleanliness.

Have a “Total” Scouting Experience.

Follow the Scout Oath, Law, Slogan and Motto. Be Friends.


Troop 1131's Rule

Don’t touch other people!

(This means we don’t fight, or “horse around” leading to fights.)

Don’t touch other people’s stuff without their permission!

(This means we don’t “borrow” things, or go into another person’s tent or into another person’s pack without their permission.)
